How do we diagnose gonorrhea?

Gonorrhea is transmitted directly, meaning it can be transmitted during sexual intercourse (vaginal, anal or oral) or from mother to fetus during pregnancy.

In Europe, it is the second most diagnosed STI after chlamydia in sexually active people between the ages of 15 and 29. The probability of having contracted gonorrhea (whether through vaginal, oral, or anal sex) is up to 60%.

Gonorrhea infection is one of the leading causes of infertility worldwide.
